I had bird bones growing up. They were naturally more frail. I broke so many bones while growing up, my parents jokingly called me “ER Amanda” and said my x rays were part of the family album.
In Medical astrology, Capricorn and Saturn rules over bone health, and the moon shows how successful you are at absorbing nutrients. So, even though Saturn is exalted in my chart (it means he’s in his favorite sign of Libra), Saturn is also considered the enemy of the moon. And that is also in Libra. Does this mean I will have fragile bones my whole life?
No, it does not. That’s not how health or astrology works.
It means I have to work harder for my bone health than say someone who is born with Saturn in Capricorn with no conflicts from other planets.
I had a bone scan 2 years ago and my bone density was above normal for my age range. I’m in my 40’s. A time when lots of women lose bone density due to waning estrogen levels.
My secrete wasn’t working out at the gym and buying expensive supplements. But, staying active doing things I enjoyed (like foraging) and using herbs regularly, even for minor things most people ignore. Every time I do that, I get a boost of nutrients.
Our native weeds are packed full of minerals. It doesn’t matter what country you live in. I happen to live in the USA, so I mostly study our native plants. And you can’t get the same level of nutrients from foods in the grocery store, as you can from native plants.
If you were blessed with strong bones, this article probably won’t interest you. But if you need to be proactive about your health, like I need to be. Then you’ll find a lot of value in this.
I’ve been getting more and more questions about bone health. And this includes young people! Herbs often have the perfect combination of minerals and vitamins to give you maximum bioavailability. Plus it’s cheaper than those fancy supplements with isolated nutrients! I’m probably adding too many details in this newsletter, but I love my old herbal books and seeing what herbalists used to do. Don’t worry, there’s lots of up to date information too.
I’m including Iodine at the end of this article. It’s often over looked when planning how to strengthen the bones.
Pick out one or two of these herbs that also matches the other ailment you are experiencing. That’s what a good herbalist does. Matches herbs to people like a matchmaker.
It’s also important to switch herbs out or take a break regularly. You don’t want your body to ‘get used to’ the effects and the herb not work as well for you.
It seems my last article on red clover somehow upset other herbalists? I doubt they read the whole thing given the lack of depth in their response. So you’ll find an even more expanded section on red clover plus a link back to my original article. Honestly, this is an herb everyone should keep in their home. The uses feel endless!
I have included some potentially sensitive topic in the health world. I’m not trying to be controversial, I’m trying to help people regain their health. Sometimes that involves actually studying biology and coming to different conclusions. If I need to expand on this topic, let me know in the comments!
I’m including information that is not easily found online. You may want to bookmark this newsletter, and share with a friend you feel may benefit from this valuable information.
